Imagine sending your car for a scheduled service and getting a bill that could buy you another brand-new car.
For Mercedes-AMG ONE owners, that's not such a far-fetched scenario. Even its Service A maintenance can cost six figures in ringgit.
And now, Malaysia has a workshop built specifically to handle it.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has established Southeast Asia's first and only Mercedes-AMG ONE Service Hub at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi, Klang, following an investment of RM2.2 million.
MERCEDES-AMG ONE: BY THE NUMBERS Six Figures Reported Service A cost in RM RM2.2 Million Malaysian service hub investment 275 AMG ONEs produced worldwide 1,063 hp Combined hybrid powertrain output Servicing cost reported by Paultan; vehicle and facility figures from Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.According to Paultan's report, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia confirmed that Service A for the AMG ONE costs in the six-figure ringgit range.
For perspective, the publication also cited an RM Sotheby's listing showing a Service A bill of €37,610, approximately RM172,434 at the exchange rate used in that report.

That overseas figure is an example of the extraordinary maintenance expense, not an official Malaysian service quotation.
And this isn't a quick oil change. Service records cited in the same reporting indicate that Service A can involve extensive fluid replacement and inspections.
80 WORK-HOURS Reported labour requirement for a Mercedes-AMG ONE Service A procedure. That's a serious amount of work for something described as scheduled maintenance. But then again, the AMG ONE isn't exactly an ordinary road car.
As Carz previously covered, the AMG ONE brings Formula 1-derived technology into a road-legal hypercar.
Its 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 works alongside four electric motors to produce a combined 1,063 hp, while the combustion engine can rev to 11,000 rpm, according to Mercedes-AMG's official specifications.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 352 km/h.

Impressive? Absolutely. But packing this much racing-derived technology into a road car also makes maintenance unusually demanding.
The new service hub at Hap Seng Star Bukit Tinggi is equipped with dedicated diagnostics, high-voltage servicing tools and controlled working conditions specifically for the AMG ONE.
But the more unusual details are found in the workshop itself. According to Bernama's reporting, the facility even features a specialised vehicle hoist anchored two metres underground and soundproofed bays designed for noise levels reaching 120 decibels.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia says its locally based technicians have undergone specialised certification to perform approved diagnostics, maintenance and servicing, with direct technical support from Mercedes-AMG specialists.
Here's the interesting part: Mercedes-AMG produced just 275 AMG ONEs worldwide. So why invest in a dedicated facility in Klang?
Because the hub isn't intended to serve Malaysian owners alone.

The new facility joins a select global service network spanning Germany, Switzerland, the Middle East and Japan. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia says it will complement the existing Japanese hub and support AMG ONE owners across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Malaysia's location and existing Mercedes-Benz parts logistics operations provide further advantages, helping coordinate specialised maintenance and replacement parts.
For local technicians, the appointment also means gaining a place in a highly specialised international service network built around Formula 1-derived engineering.

It's about becoming a regional centre capable of maintaining one of the most exclusive and technically demanding road cars ever produced.
For Malaysian technicians, that's a noteworthy achievement. For AMG ONE owners, it means access to dedicated regional servicing infrastructure.
And for the rest of us? Well, the next time our own service bill feels painfully expensive, at least we can be grateful it doesn't come with an AMG ONE-sized price tag.
