Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Releases Updated Pricing SST
The sales tax break for passenger cars in Malaysia is over. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has published the new prices.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has released their new price list effective July 2022. The new price list incorporates the full sales tax on locally-assembled (CKD) and fully-imported (CBU) vehicles alike.
Electric vehicles continue to enjoy zero import duties and zero excise duties. As such, the Mercedes-EQA’s pricing still remains attractive below RM300,000.

Prior to this, CKD vehicles received a full sales tax exemption while CBU cars got a 50% sales tax discount. This was announced by the Muhyiddin Yassin government in June 2020 in an effort to combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the national economy. It was extended multiple times and expired about 2 years after it first came in, with sales tax returning to passenger cars in July 2022.
