- The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the south west of England for Thursday evening.
- The warning covers Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, and Dorset, with potential disruption to driving conditions, alongside a small chance buildings and temporary structures could be damaged by strong winds. There is also a small chance of flooding in a few spots.
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected to move towards south-east England on Thursday evening and night, with the storms potentially producing gusty winds of 50-60mph.
- This comes as a new amber warning for heat has been issued for eastern and central England for Friday, alongside an amber warning for extreme heat covering parts of east and south-east England on Saturday.
- A rare red weather warning for heat is also currently in effect for large parts of the UK until the end of Thursday.
