Met Police chief calls for justice system to better protect victims

  • Zafer Dogan, 32, has been jailed for two years and four months at Wood Green Crown Court for secretly photographing thousands of women and children and using AI to ‘nudify’ them.
  • The Enfield mechanic took more than 5,000 photos of unsuspecting adults and children going about their daily lives, including taking pictures from his bedroom window overlooking a playground.
  • Dogan pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography, and obstructing a police officer.
  • The Metropolitan Police and Crown Prosecution Service expressed frustration after the courts repeatedly granted Dogan bail back to his flat despite their firm opposition.
  • Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley attended the hearing and called for the justice system to better protect victims, stating that children should have been put first.
