- Two police officers have been charged in connection with the death of a heavily pregnant woman and her unborn baby following a collision with a police vehicle in south east London.
- The 38-year-old woman was killed on 17 October 2024, on Eltham Road, Eltham, when her car was involved in a collision with an unmarked police vehicle.
- PC Chris Johnson, 56, the driver of the police vehicle involved, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
- Former PC Danny Tomkins, 35, who was driving a second unmarked police vehicle, faces a charge of dangerous driving related to the standard of his driving.
- Both officers are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 28 May 2026.
