
- Three men have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary after being caught attempting to tunnel into a south London jewellery shop.
- Metropolitan Police officers foiled the heist on Mitcham Road in Tooting after discovering tools and a plan to dig through a neighbouring massage parlour wall.
- Laurentiu-Daniel Nitisoara and Ioan Asafeti were arrested at the scene, while third gang member Sergiu Plastin was detained at Stansted Airport attempting to flee to Ireland.
- A Met Flying Squad investigation subsequently linked the group to a series of commercial burglaries across London worth more than £700,000.
- The trio admitted their guilt at Kingston Crown Court and are scheduled to be sentenced on 23 October.
