THE Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a Prolonged Rain Warning at the alert level, cautioning of extended periods of rainfall expected to affect several states beginning next week.
In a statement today, MetMalaysia said continuous rain is forecast to affect Kelantan and Terengganu from January 5 to January 8.
The department added that prolonged rainfall is also expected in several districts in Pahang, namely Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin, from January 6 to January 8.
MetMalaysia advised the public and relevant authorities to remain vigilant and to stay updated with the latest weather information, as prolonged rainfall may increase the risk of flooding, landslides and disruptions to daily activities. - January 3, 2025
