SHAH ALAM, Oct 29 — The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in four Selangor districts, namely Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat, until 6pm today.
In a statement issued at 2.50pm today, MetMalaysia said that a similar weather condition will also be experienced in five seven other states, which includes Perak (Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang, Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempul and Tampin) and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi).
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” the statement read.
