KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has prioritised fan accessibility for the 2025/26 Malaysia Cup final, confirming that ticket prices will be maintained at existing rates despite increased costs of staging the showpiece event.
MFL chief executive officer Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd confirmed that there will be no increase in ticket prices for the final, with the league opting to keep rates unchanged to ease the burden on supporters.
“Despite facing increased costs of staging the event, MFL has maintained the current ticket pricing structure for the four main categories offered to fans of both teams,” he said when contacted.
He added that the pricing structure remains unchanged, with tickets starting from RM50 and RM70 for General Admission (GA50 and GA70), while Premium seats are priced at RM150 and VIP Grandstand tickets at RM200.
Shazli also announced that the 2025/26 Malaysia Cup final between Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kuching City FC will be held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on May 23.
The 99th edition of the Malaysia Cup is expected to draw significant attention, with defending champions JDT aiming to retain their title against Kuching City FC, who are making their first-ever appearance in the final.
He said the early announcement of ticketing details and match arrangements would allow fans to make proper travel plans, particularly supporters of Kuching City FC.
“Especially for Kuching City FC supporters, who will be experiencing a Malaysia Cup final for the first time, MFL hopes this early information will give them sufficient time to plan their travel arrangements more systematically,” he said.
Shazli added that ticket sales will once again be managed by the two finalist clubs, a system MFL believes ensures a more structured distribution process and fairer access for supporters.
With anticipation building ahead of the final, the decision to maintain ticket prices is expected to further boost fan turnout for what promises to be a highly anticipated encounter. - April 24, 2026
