MI5 sting captures young neo-Nazi who planned mass gun attack

  • Alfie Coleman, 21, from Great Notley in Essex, has been found guilty of preparing for terrorist acts after an Old Bailey retrial.
  • He planned a mass gun attack, venerating Nazi dictator Hitler and other extremist killers, and had compiled a 'hate list' of colleagues and customers.
  • Coleman paid £3,500 for a pistol and around 200 rounds of ammunition, having identified potential targets including the Lord Mayor of London and a mosque.
  • He was snared by MI5 undercover officers who engaged with him in encrypted chats as he sought to acquire weapons.
  • Coleman was arrested in a Morrisons car park in Stratford in September 2023 after picking up the handgun and ammunition, and is due to be sentenced on 8 July.
