THE Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) honored 35 loyalty awardees and retirees during its Civil Service Awards at the Sequoia Hotel, as part of the celebration of the Philippine Civil Service 126th Anniversary.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez and MIAA General Manager Eric Jose Ines led the awarding rites, joined by Senior Assistant General Manager Ma. Lourdes SJ. Reyes, Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration Arlene Britanico, and Assistant General Manager for Security and Emergency Services Antonio Mendoza.
The event aligned with the Civil Service Commission nationwide theme for the year, "Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan," which highlights a values-driven, modern bureaucracy that honors public servants.
Lopez said the honorees' decades of commitment should serve as a benchmark for current aviation personnel.
Ines expressed his gratitude to the honorees for their invaluable contributions to MIAA's growth and their role as government partners in national development over the years.
"That is why the years of your service are not just numbers. They are part of MIAA's history," Ines said.
While the Philippine Civil Service anniversary is officially observed on Sept. 19, the MIAA started the celebration on Sept. 29.
