Michael Gove told a rally in central London that the Jewish community in England “must be protected”.
“Israel must stand strong and Britain stands with Israel”, Mr Gove reiterated on the stage of a rally organised by The Jewish Leadership Council to ask for the release of the Israelis kidnapped by Hamas.
The Communities Secretary told the crowd in Trafalgar Square: “Every Jewish life is sacred, Jewish faith is precious, our Jewish community must be protected.”
“And when we see chants which call for the elimination of the Jewish state, then we must be clear: Never again shall we see these words, these symbols, this hate”.
