- Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary has denied claims that any part of a passenger’s body was sucked out of a broken window mid-flight.
- Serbian businessman Ljubisa Karovic, 61, suffered neck and shoulder injuries during the flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on 10 July.
- The US National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident alongside Ryanair, Boeing, and engine manufacturer GE.
- Mr O’Leary acknowledged that Mr Karovic was sucked towards the window whilst strapped into his seat and is entitled to compensation, but dismissed claims for a multi-million-pound payout.
- Mr Karovic’s wife praised a fellow passenger who helped pull her husband to safety and blocked the shattered window with a suitcase.
