KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) have entered into a strategic collaboration to enhance Malaysia’s investment ecosystem through the MIDA Gears Up for Flagship Central Region Programme 2025.

The partnership was formalised with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by MIDA Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid and MRCB Group Managing Director, Datuk Imran Salim.

The signing was witnessed by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Senator Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

Initiated by MIDA, the collaboration aims to bridge investment policy with on-the-ground delivery across the Central Region, covering Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka.

Under the partnership, MIDA will lead investment promotion efforts while MRCB focuses on implementation through its Build-and-Lease model, which allows investors to establish operations with minimal upfront cost.

The model offers ready-made infrastructure, faster project delivery, and smoother regulatory facilitation, supported by MRCB’s track record as a trusted government-linked developer.

Both organisations said the collaboration combines MIDA’s leadership in investment promotion with MRCB’s expertise in large-scale, sustainable developments to create an integrated platform for investors to identify, locate, and execute high-impact projects efficiently.

MIDA said the initiative reflects Malaysia’s drive to strengthen public–private collaboration and build an innovation-driven, sustainable economy under the Malaysia MADANI framework. – November 11, 2025
