TAWAU: A fire at midnight on Sunday destroyed a temporary school block at SK Abaka, Ladang Table, here.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Jemishin Ujin said his team received an emergency call about the incident at 12.06am.
"The fire involved a temporary school block measuring 100 by 30 square feet, completely burnt down.
"The firefighting operation used a 200-foot hose line and two jets with water sourced from the fire engine tank," he said.

Read more Jemishin said that his team managed to control the fire at 1.21am and concluded the operation at 1.23am.
He added that no one was involved in the incident, and the cause of the fire and the total losses are still under investigation.
