Myaerosatu's Deputy Chairman, Dato' Musiran Abdul Kadir, Secretary Dzul Bahrin Asmawi, and I attended at the signing ceremony for Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) between the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) in Cyberjaya. This MoC paved the way in building partnership for the future of aerospace in particular, Selangor and Malaysia, in general, as a regional aerospace hub by prioritizing human capital development, enhancing infrastructure across the government, industry, academia, and international networks. In the keynote address, they reaffirmed “Malaysia's vision for a prosperous, inclusive & sustainable nation, with aerospace sector playing a critical role in achieving this. I learned from the team of experts at the forum held succeeding the MoC signing ceremony that “The three main stakeholders in Malaysia's Aerospace Technology & Innovation ecosystem are the Research Institutions, local Aerospace industries & international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Therefore, in moving forward and accelerating the Aerospace R&D in the country, there is a need for the Government to introduce a program that would benefit the shared R&D goals between these 3 key stakeholders that mainly covers technological development & global integration into the supply chain.”

The forum moderator who's a Senior Associate of MIGHT, Kamarul Bahrin Haron, concluded that “MIGHT and PNSB should lead the Aerospace flagship project, and the government's primary role is to provide facilitation, funding, infrastructure & monitoring through national steering committee of experts.”
