Migrants fight over aid on Ceuta beach as hundreds set up camp

Migrants have been filmed fighting over aid at a makeshift camp they have established on a beach in Ceuta, Spain.

Following the massive border surge last week, Spain estimates that 69,500 migrants have since been returned to Morocco. Between 3,000 and 5,000 migrants remained in the enclave, Ceuta's president Juan Jesus Vivas told broadcaster Telecinco.

Footage captured on Monday (3 August) appears to show migrants surrounding aid workers as they give out food and water from a vehicle stationed on a beach.

A brawl soon breaks out among the migrants as they appear to tussle over supplies.

The official death toll stands at 72 on the Spanish side of the border, with 11 fatalities reported on the Moroccan side.
