THE Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) @ Shanghai 2025 achieved total sales of RM1.24 billion during its three-day exhibition, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi revealed.
He attributed the success to three main components: the International Sourcing Programme (INSP), which generated RM651.8 million in sales; exhibition transactions worth RM271.2 million; and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) valued at RM315.5 million.
“43 per cent of these sales were from Ready-to-Eat (RTE) products, 16 per cent from palm-based products, 12 per cent from beverages, 10 per cent from agricultural products, and five per cent from Islamic financial services,” he said during a press conference marking the conclusion of his four-day official visit to Shanghai, which began on 4 November.
Ahmad Zahid expressed confidence that the exhibition’s final sales target of RM3 billion could be achieved by the end of the event.
The showcase, held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai, featured 250 Malaysian exhibitors and coincided with the China International Import Expo (CIIE). - November 7, 2025
