Mike Johnson said that he knows nothing about the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shooting in Maine as he’s “been a little busy”.
On Monday (13 July), an agent fatally shot Johan Sebastián Guerrero, a Colombian national, during an immigration enforcement operation - the second time in a week that the agency has used deadly force against a migrant.
Asked about the fatal shooting of Mr Guerrero, a father to a three-year-old, the House speaker said he would reserve judgement until he learnt more about the case.
“I’m not going to comment because I don’t know. I’ve worked about 22 hours the last two days.”
