Mike Johnson has admitted he told Donald Trump to remove a Truth Social post of an image portraying the president as Jesus.

The picture, which appeared to be AI-generated, was deleted from his account after backlash from Christians, before he claimed the image showed him “as a doctor.”

Trump had also labelled Pope Leo “WEAK” on crime and “terrible” on foreign policy in a Sunday night (12 April) rant.

The Speaker of the House told journalists on Tuesday (14 April) that he had informed the president that the Jesus image wasn’t “being received in the same way he intended it" soon after it was posted.

"He agreed, and he pulled it down", Johnson added.
