
A military personnel was detained with a pistol, dozens of bullets and liquid suspected to be ketum at a car park in the Sungai Besi Army Camp, police said
KUALA LUMPUR: A military personnel was detained along with a pistol, dozens of bullets, and liquid suspected to be ketum at a car park area in the Sungai Besi Army Camp here, last Tuesday.
Cheras Deputy District Police Chief Supt Lim Chun How said the personnel was arrested by a police team from the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division (BPJKK) of the Cheras District Police Headquarters at around 12:42 am.
He said further checks revealed that the suspect has three past criminal records involving two drug cases and one criminal case.
“The case is being investigated under serious offence classifications, namely Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 and Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960,” he said in a statement today.
Lim said the personnel was remanded for five days until today, and his remand period has been extended for another five days until October 8 to assist with the investigation.
