Millions of Cuisinart grill brushes recalled due to ‘serious internal injuries’

  • Conair has expanded its recall of Cuisinart metal wire-bristle grill brushes to more than 3.6 million units because of serious ingestion hazards.
  • The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the utensils’ bristles can become detached and stick to a grill or to food. That could lead to customers swallowing the brushes, something that could cause “serious internal injuries that could require surgery.”
  • Conair received at least 54 reports of detaching wires, including three instances where customers needed medical care to remove bristles from their digestive tracts.
  • The recalled brushes were sold nationwide at major retailers from June 2009 to March 2026 for $8 to $20.
  • Consumers are advised to stop using the affected products immediately and contact Conair for a full refund or store credit.
