Kota Kinabalu: State Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Julita Majungki visited Queen Elizabeth Hospital II (QEH II) as part of efforts to enhance the quality of healthcare facilities in the State.

The working visit forms part of a series of tours to hospitals across the State, following a previous visit to Duchess of Kent Hospital.

“This is a working visit that I intended to carry out together with JKNS and the Ministry team, and out of the 24 hospitals in Sabah, this is only the second one I have visited,” she said.

She said the visit enabled her to assess operations and identify challenges, including issues affecting the comfort of patients and staff, such as parking.

Regarding the upgrade of the Sabah Heart Centre at QEH II, she said initial works within the existing building are progressing smoothly, with several phases planned and underway.

She said such visits are important to identify priorities on the ground and plan follow-up actions to ensure hospitals operate efficiently and provide more comfortable services.
