Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa chaired a meeting of District Development and Monitoring Committee at PWD Rest House in Rewari on Thursday.

Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa chaired a meeting of District Development and Monitoring Committee at PWD Rest House here on Thursday.

The minister directed the committee to spend the Rs 14.20 crore approved for the district’s development in 2026-27 on works in all blocks and municipal bodies based on population.

He asked members to regularly monitor and review the progress of development works, stressing that special attention should be paid to quality. He also reviewed works approved in the last financial year 2025-26.

Gangwa also chaired a meeting of District Grievances Redressal Committee. He said that if officials resolve residents’ complaints in a timely manner, people would not need to approach Grievances Committee.

Of the 14 complaints taken up at the meeting, 10 were disposed of on the spot. Santosh Devi, a resident of Anaj Mandi, said she had taken possession of a plot in HSVP Sector 4 and had a boundary wall constructed. However, when she proceeded to build the house, HSVP did not approve the building plan, stating that the area’s layout had been changed. Taking strict cognisance, the minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to resolve the matter promptly.

Manjeet Kumar, a resident of Sector 19, complained that a 10-metre wall had been built in front of his 6-marla plot. He requested that it be removed.

Gangwa ordered the removal of the encroachment in front of the applicant’s plot within seven days.

Residents of Ansal Township in Rewari reported that they were not getting electricity connections due to a dispute between Ansal and the power corporation. The minister directed Ansal representatives to clear the outstanding amount to the corporation within 15 days so new transformers could be installed.

Kosli MLA Anil Yadav, Municipal Council Chairperson Vinita Pippal, BJP district president Dr Vandana Popli, Rewari Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena, ADC Rahul Modi, SP Hemendra Kumar Meena, and Kosli SDM Vijay Kumar Yadav were also present.

Speaking to reporters, Gangwa said new super-sucker and jet machines have been purchased for cleaning sewer lines and are being sent to every district. He added that officials have been instructed to address waterlogging ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.

Responding to a query, the minister asserted that Public Health Engineering Department supplies drinking water only after laboratory testing and that canal water is provided in areas where groundwater is poor.
