Ministry enforcement officers hailed as key to price stability and consumer protection

ENFORCEMENT officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) have been recognised for their critical role in maintaining price stability, securing essential goods supply and preventing leakages of subsidised items, amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the contributions of enforcement personnel, though often out of the public spotlight, are felt daily by Malaysians, particularly in safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring market stability.

In a statement issued in conjunction with the 54th KPDN Enforcement Day, he expressed appreciation to officers for their continued service and dedication.

“Not all heroes stand in front of the lens, but their contributions are felt every day. When the public enjoys stable and controlled prices of essential goods, assured supply and subsidised items reaching targeted groups, that is where the significant role of KPDN enforcement officers lies,” he said in a social media post.

He added that enforcement personnel remain committed to their duties on the ground at all times, carrying out inspections, monitoring activities and taking action against those seeking to exploit the system.

“The dedication and integrity demonstrated deserve recognition as they form the main line of defence in protecting the interests of the people.

“I extend my highest appreciation to all KPDN enforcement personnel for their resilience, courage and integrity in carrying out this responsibility.

“Continue to serve with full dedication and professionalism. Happy 54th KPDN Enforcement Day. ‘Committed to Facing Challenges’,” he said.

The ministry emphasised that enforcement efforts remain a cornerstone of the government’s broader strategy to manage living costs and ensure fair market practices nationwide. - April 17, 2026
