The Olympics will be held soon in Paris, and many people look forward to it. With the anticipation high, many have turned to social media to root for the Malaysian team.

Recently, a fan-made poster showing the athletes who will be competing has been shared on different social media platforms. One of the posts even garnered more than 4,900 shares on Facebook!

The poster sported an all-white background, and the athletes were placed on it with just their passport photos. The Malaysian flag and the Paris Olympics logo were at the bottom.

With how amateurish it looked, people were quick to say that the Ministry of Youth and Sports was not doing their job well.

A common sentiment that the netizens shared was that it looked like the athletes’ mugshots, while others said that it looked like it came straight from a hair salon catalogue.

In a tweet on X, the ministry quickly clarified that the poster was fan-made and not produced by them.

Poster yang memaparkan kesemua 26 gambar atlet yang mewakili negara ke Paris hanya sekadar poster ‘Fan-made’ dan ia bukan dihasilkan oleh @KBSMalaysia

They also stated that Malaysians should follow the ministry’s social media pages for official updates on the Paris 2024.

According to ASTRO ARENA, the “mugshots” were accreditation pictures taken from the Paris Olympics 2024 site.
