THE Social Welfare Department has recently called for higher monthly aid for caregivers of bedridden patients under Budget 2027.

Families often struggle to balance medical costs, daily living expenses and the time needed to provide round-the-clock care.
The Malaysian Institute of Retirement Management (MIRM) fully supports the Social Welfare Department’s call.

By raising aid, the government can ease this burden and strengthen the welfare system.
