Misai - the Shell cat has been safely returned

MISAI the cat which was missing since October 26 from the Shell Beseri station in Kangar, Perlis, has been safely returned.

Following its disappearance, the station posted a plea on social media for its safe return which quickly went viral.

CCTV footage shared by the station revealed that Misai, a black and white cat with a distinctive moustache-like marking, was taken by an individual driving a Toyota Hilux 4×4 at around 1.27am.

Famed for wearing a tiny Shell uniform, Misai was not wearing his collar or uniform at the time of his disappearance.

The station also mentioned that the feline suffers from Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) which is a serious and often fatal viral disease caused by the Feline Coronavirus (FCoV).

Misai was in the midst of treatment when he went missing.

"If anyone accidentally took him, we forgive you. Please return him to the station. We have the CCTV footage and we miss our cat,” read the post.

The post garnered hundred thousands of views with many netizens expressing concern and sadness over Misai’s disappearance.

In their latest post, the station informed that Misai was once again safe at Shell Beseri and resting.

The owner said the individual who took the feline did not know he had an owner and returned Misai as soon as the plea went viral.

The CCTV footage has also been deleted from Shell Beseri’s TikTok page. - October 30, 2025
