
Kota Kinabalu: A company clerk was charged in the Court here Tuesday with misappropriating RM31,816 cash belonging to the company.
Azurawati Abdul Suili, 38, was accused of misusing the money belonging to Global Transmission Service Centre for her use between July 10 and July 17, this year at the Global Transmission Service Centre Industry Kolombong.
However, no plea was recorded from Azurawati, who appeared before Court Registrar Rita Kunsoi after the charge was read to her.
The charge under Section 403 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between six months and five years and whipping and liability of a fine, on conviction.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old woman was charged with two counts of cheating involving RM7,136.
No plea was taken from Tina, a housewife, after the charges were read out to her.
On the first count, Tina was alleged to have cheated Raiziatul Raehana, 29, by tricking her that Tina wanted to sell five pieces of pawnbroker’s receipts and inducing her to hand over RM4,410 to Tina.
The offence was allegedly committed on June 7, at 10.50am, in front of a pawnshop in Inanam.
On the second count, Tina allegedly cheated Norenah Ibrahim, 36, by deceiving her that Tina wanted to sell three pieces of pawnbroker’s receipts and induced her to hand over RM2,726 to her on July 17, this year, at 11.30am, at Inanam town.
Each charge under Section 420 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up between one year and 10 years and with whipping and liability of a fine, on conviction.
Tina’s plea will be taken before a Magistrate today (July 24).
Meanwhile, an unemployed man was charged with committing mischief by cutting a 90-inch length of cable belonging to Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
Akmal Rizal Nasir, 20, allegedly committed the offence on July 19, at 12.20am, by the roadside of Taman Putera Perdana, Telipok.
The charge under Section 431A of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to two years or fine or both, on conviction.
The court also fixed today (July 24) for Akmal’s plea to be recorded by a Magistrate.
All accused were ordered to be further remanded pending the date.
