Missing boys in Penampang found safe

PENAMPANG: Two boys, aged 13 and 15, reported missing on Aug 8, have been found safe and sound.

Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton in a statement, here, Saturday said Nicholas Chee Ping, 13, returned home on his own on Aug 9.

The other missing child, Rezlo Mic Fadden Romineo, 15, surrendered himself at the Penampang Police Station on Saturday (Aug 10) at about noon.

The police have also addressed a 32-second audio recording circulating on social media regarding missing children.

On that note, Sammy urged the public to refrain from uploading or spreading unverified information on any social media platforms or applications, as it could cause unnecessary public alarm.

He also advised parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s activities and social circles to prevent any untoward incidents.
