
RANAU: An elderly man who was reported missing after going out to look for cane in the forest area of Kampung Patau, here, since July 21, was found dead Monday morning.
The body of Jurin Sahantoh, 62, was found floating by the search and rescue (SAR) team in the waterfall area at about 11am.
Family members looked for him for 10 days but to no avail.
Ranau District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Simiun Lomudin said his side only received a report about the missing victim on July 31.

Read more “The SAR operation was launched on August 2 involving nine officers and policemen from the Ranau District Police Headquarters (IPD), the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sabah, the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM), the General Operations Team (PGA), the Operations Team Udara (PGU), Ranau four-wheel drive club and village people.
The body was sent to Ranau Hospital for post-mortem purposes.
