
TAWAU: A man has safely returned home, 10 hours after being reported missing while looking for shellfish in Kg Sungai Imam, last Saturday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Jemishin Ujin said Asmadih Ahmad, 50s, came home around 2.53am on Sunday.
He said the man’s daughter initially filed a missing person report at about 9.42pm when her father failed to return home after heading down to the mangrove area near their house to seek for shellfish.
The man was said to have left the house around 4pm on a motorcycle.

Read more When he did not return home and could not be reached by phone, his family alerted the authorities.
This led a team to be dispatched to the location.
The team began gathering information as soon as they arrived at 10.06pm.
The search operation halted around 11.40pm and resumed on Sunday morning.
The search was called off at 6.43am after learning of the man’s safe return.
