NABAWAN: A woman who was reported missing while fishing in a river in Kampung Saub here on Sunday evening was found safe by villagers.

The 55-year-old victim was found at 7.09pm on Monday, 3km from where he was fishing and was taken to the Nabawan clinic in a fire utility vehicle for further examination.

The Nabawan Fire and Rescue Station Control Room received an emergency call on Monday at 2.25pm that the victim was feared missing while fishing in Saub River, Jalan Batu 38, Tongod on Sunday at 6pm.

A six-member team led by Operations Commander Rudy Meki rushed to the location with machinery to search for the victim.

A complainant (the victim’s husband) said, before the incident, the victim’s husband tried to chase after a squirrel from their fishing location.

After three hours, the victim’s husband returned to the fishing location and found the victim missing. Efforts to find the victim by villagers were unsuccessful.
