Mitchell van der Gaag is making his mark with Manchester United.
The former Dutch defender arrived as manager Erik ten Hag's assisant.
The Manchester Evening News says a coach known for his ability to organise defences, Van der Gaag hasn't taken long to make his mark at Old Trafford. Last season, United only managed to keep eight clean sheets in the Premier League, a figure they've already matched this term.
Van der Gaag has also been praised for his high level of man-management. He believes every member of the team should feel valued, as all players - even if they are on the fringes of the first team - will be needed at some point if a team is to continue fighting on multiple fronts.
The Reds experienced their worst-ever Premier League season last term, only accumulating 58 points. There seemed to be a lack of togetherness within the squad, something which certainly couldn't be said of United this season. The way players act and perform is often a reflection of what the coaches are communicating to them.
