KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck Mindanao in the Philippines at 7.34 am today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department reported.
The earthquake, with a depth of 20 kilometres (km), occurred 106 km southeast of Davao, it said in a statement.
The department said the quake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia.
