MOE Set to Implement Initiative Where Students Are Responsible for School Toilet Cleanliness

The Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) will be looking into implementing an initiative in the hygiene education series in schools.

According to a report by Astro Awani, Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) had made the suggestion that would have an impact and teach values to the students as a whole.

“I welcome the Prime Minister’s suggestion that students be involved in the hygiene education series in schools,” she said.

 

MOE took to their Twitter page to further elaborate on the initiative, where students will have to clean and maintain the cleanliness of their schools’ toilets.

They wrote, “The Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) will start an initiative to cultivate the practice and responsible attitude of students in keeping school toilets clean in the near future through the implementation of the MOE School Toilet Cleanliness Rating.”

“Toilet cleanliness is a long-term Cleanliness, Health and Safety (3K) program that targets all MOE school toilets to achieve a minimum of THREE (3) stars by the end of 2025 as a quality standard that every school must achieve.”
