THE Ministry of Finance (MoF) is collaborating urgently with the Road Transport Department (RTD) to resolve technical difficulties related to the eligibility checks for the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme prior to its full rollout on 30 September.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying revealed that several members of the public had lodged complaints about being deemed ineligible despite possessing valid driving licences and MyKad identification. Although these cases are isolated, the ministry is taking the matter seriously and is committed to resolving the issues promptly.
“Yesterday, we did receive several complaints saying that they had a valid licence and MyKad, but were found to be ineligible. The ministry is currently discussing with RTD and we will resolve this technical issue as soon as possible before Sept 30,” Bernama reported Lim telling reporters after overseeing the distribution of BUDI95 to recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash aid at a petrol station on Jalan Raja Uda.
She urged the public to verify their eligibility on the official website [https://www.budimadani.gov.my/](https://www.budimadani.gov.my/) and to submit complaints if they encounter any problems to facilitate immediate investigation and resolution.
Lim added that the public could also contact the dedicated hotline at 1300-88-9595, providing their name, identity card number, and valid driving licence for verification and follow-up.
“Here I would like to emphasise that as long as the individual is an eligible Malaysian, they are 100 per cent entitled to enjoy the benefits of BUDI95. There may be slight delays or technical glitches here and there, but we will ensure that these issues are resolved as soon as possible,” she said.
Ahead of the full implementation, Lim advised the public to remain calm and continue making fuel purchases as usual, reassuring that each eligible individual has a monthly quota of 300 litres that can be used flexibly throughout the period.
She also reported that since 25 September, some 8.1 million users have already checked their eligibility online, reflecting strong public engagement with the initiative.
The recent rollout to STR recipients, the programme’s second beneficiary group, has been smooth with no reported complaints so far. - September 28, 2025
