Kuala Lumpur: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) will continue engaging with various clusters and stakeholders to ensure their views are taken into account in the comprehensive drafting of the new national higher education act and legislative framework.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the input and expertise of public university legal advisers were crucial in shaping an act that was not only legally robust and practical, but also capable of meeting the actual needs of the higher education ecosystem.
He said the process would continue to be carried out openly, inclusively and comprehensively.
"Every view will be scrutinised so that the newly developed framework can strengthen autonomy, accountability, governance and responsible freedom in higher education institutions," he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier, Zambry received a courtesy call from a group of public university legal advisers with extensive experience in the legal, governance and operational aspects of the institutions.
He said the ministry received various views, feedback and suggestions during the meeting, including on matters to ensure an orderly transition without affecting the continuity of university administration and operations.
"Thank you for the willingness to share your views and expertise. InsyaAllah, all the input received will become part of the important considerations in our efforts to shape the future of the country's higher education," he said.
