Mojigoh warns Anwar risks Sabah backlash over RM1.5b grant delay

PUTATAN: Putatan Upko chief Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh warned Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim could face voter backlash in Sabah if he fails to swiftly deliver the promised RM1.5 billion interim special grant.

Speaking at a Kaamatan event in Kg Tombovo, Mojigoh said past patterns suggest delays, adding Sabahans may again reject West Malaysian parties if promises go unmet.

He cited rising living costs, higher utility and fuel prices, and persistent poverty in the state.

Mojigoh also highlighted dissatisfaction over Sabah’s development gap, ongoing demands for 40 per cent revenue rights, and youth migration due to limited job opportunities.

He proposed selling Sabah’s oil and gas to China and relocating KKIA to Kimanis to spur economic growth and employment.
