
Kota Kinabalu: The Sessions Court fixed Aug 23 for e-review to fix ruling date of the case of a 57-year-old man charged with committing physical harassment against his stepdaughter.
Judge Azreena Aziz set the date for the man after the prosecution closed its case after calling four witnesses.
The court also fixed for both parties to file written submissions and reply by Aug 21.
In the event that the man would be called to enter his defence, the court set Oct 17.

The offence allegedly took place at 2.30pm on Nov 1, 2021 at a house in Kepayan, here.
The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
Due to the relationship between the man the alleged victim, there is additional punishment under Section 16(1) of the same Act carries a jail term of up to five years, and whipping at least two strokes, on conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Afiqah Alya conducted the prosecution while counsel Chen Wen Jye defended the man.
