Molesting stepdaughter: Man given DNAA by court

Kota Kinabalu: A 43-year-old man was given a discharged not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) from a charge of committing physical sexual harassment against his stepdaughter.

The man was given DNAA by the court after being informed that there was new development in the case.

The court was informed by the prosecution that the Senior Federal Counsel has decided to give the DNAA to the man.

The man was accused of committing the offence against the 15-year-old girl by fondling her breasts in early October 2021 at a house, here.

Due to the relationship between the man and the girl, there was also additional punishment for the offence, which falls under Section 16(1) of the same Act carries a jail term of up to five years, and whipping at least two strokes, on conviction.

The man was previously further remanded pending the disposal of his case.
