A pigeon received oxygen from firefighters after they noticed it was struggling to breathe following a fire.
After Oakland firefighters put out a vehicle fire on Tuesday (14 July), a distressed pigeon who appeared to have suffered from smoke inhalation, “came up to them seeking help”.
Footage shared by the emergency services, which has since gone viral, shows a firefighter gently holding an oxygen mask over the bird’s beak to help it breathe.
Moments later, the pigeon regained its strength and flew away after clearing its lungs.
