Monza chief Adriano Galliani was proud of the players in defeat to AC Milan.
Milan won 1-0 at Monza on Saturday via Junior Messias' goal.
Former Rossonero vice-president Adriano Galliani said: "Monza played well, well, well, well.
"I heard the president (Silvo Berlusconi) and he was very happy with the performance. Life is this: there are matches in which you draw in the last second (like against Inter) and others in which you hit a double post: it happens.
"But you have to be proud, it's a dream for a former boy from Monza to see the team play like this.
"With (Paolo) Maldini and Ibra (Zlatan Ibrahimovic)? Thirty-one years of life cannot be forgotten."
