
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government will implement several programmes to reduce unemployment rate in the state, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
He said the Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry through its departments and agencies will implement the food crops development, industrial crops and downstream industry development programmes, among others to create job opportunities.
It was reported that following the Covid-19 pandemic, the unemployment rate in the State was recorded at 184,000 people in March 2022, said Jeffrey during the 50th Timbang Menggaris, Sabah Agriculture Institute (IPS); 37th and 38th Agriculture Vocational Training Centre (AVTC), Lahad Datu convocation ceremony at Yayasan Sabah building here.
