Kota Kinabalu: AirAsia Philippines aims to double its biweekly direct flights to Kota Kinabalu by the end of the year while Sabah, in turn, hopes for more expatriates from the country.

Its Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla said they are looking to expand connecting flights to and from Sabah’s East Coast, where most Filipino nationals reside.

“We used to fly four times weekly before the pandemic and that’s approximately 4,000 passengers.
