- Locals were advised to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed due to large plumes of smoke billowing from the site.
- Southeastern Rail services were disrupted, with trains diverted, no services to or from Charing Cross, and delays affecting Cannon Street.
- Southwark Council also advised residents in the area to keep their windows and doors closed for safety.
