LAHAD DATU: More than 300,000 residents here were affected by a widespread power outage that began at about 3pm on Tuesday.
The disruption affected households, businesses and government offices throughout the district.
Sabah Electricity (SE) confirmed the outage in a statement, saying the entire Lahad Datu area was impacted.
SE said efforts were underway to identify the cause of the disruption and restore electricity supply in stages.
Power supply was reported to have been restored in some areas from about 6pm.
