At the end of the day, you cannot separate a Malaysian from durian.
Malaysian actress Yumi Wong (@yumiwong_official) has been filming upcoming Hong Kong-Malaysian movie, Lock Up in Penang alongside other notable actors and actresses. Amidst spending her days on set, she did not pass the opportunity to devour durian in the comfort of her hotel room.
Unfortunately, it slipped her mind that in some hotels in Malaysia, durians are not permitted in. "I'm so stupid I wasn't even aware that durians are not allowed in hotels!", she said in her Instagram story.
The hotel staffs reportedly captured a photo of durian seeds in her hotel room trash as evidence and the Malaysian actress was required to pay RM1000 fine for the offence. "This is the most expensive durian I've eaten in my life!" the actress remarked.
