Mother of Southport victim speaks out two years on from attack

• Jenni Stancombe, mother of Elsie who was killed in the Southport knife attack two years ago, shared that her youngest daughter now avoids Taylor Swift music and bracelet making.
• Elsie, aged seven, along with nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar and six-year-old Bebe King, were murdered by Axel Rudakubana at a dance class two years ago.
• Ms Stancombe expressed her ongoing struggle with guilt and the pain of time passing, noting it makes her feel further from her daughter rather than healing.
• The Southport community observed a three-minute silence for the two-year anniversary, and foundations have been established in memory of the three girls.
• Axel Rudakubana, serving a life sentence for the murders, was recently transferred to Broadmoor Hospital, a decision that does not change his 52-year sentence, following an inquiry that found the attack "could and should have been prevented".
