A MOTHER recently took to social media to caution others after her fourth child almost got kidnapped at the Malaysian border.
Sharing her horrifying experience on Threads, Ummi Hikaru said they has just entered Padang Besar when her son needed to use the toilet.
She said her husband dropped her and the child at the entrance heading to the toilets.
"We were heading to the toilet and the area was crowded. When we reached the toilet, I began digging my purse to get some coins to use the toilet.
"My son was in front of me and was hopping about playfully. I was also constantly calling out his name so he would know I was nearby.
"All of a sudden, a woman walked past me and took my son by the hand and began walking away. My son followed, thinking it was me. My immediate reflex was to shout out my son's name in a firm tone," she said.

At that point, she said her son turned to look back and the woman just pretended she had taken the wrong child and walked away.
"I was shocked and stared sharply at her so show her I knew what she was up to. My heart was still pounding, and I regret not confronting her then and get her arrested," said Ummi.
She said the woman was medium-height, round-eyed, with tanned skin and in her 30s, dressed like any ordinary person. However, Ummi could not confirm whether the suspect was a Malaysian or foreigner.
"Thank God my child is safe. Please let this be a warning to all parents - never let your child out of your sight even for a second and always keep them close in crowded places.
"If I had been distracted for just a moment longer, things could have turned out terribly” she added.
Other parents also shared similar incidents and urged others to be extra cautious. - September 19, 2025
